YOU ARE DOING WHAT? RURAL TOURISM?
WHERE? LINCOLN COUNTY, NV? NEVER HEARD OF IT!
WELL
It has now been discovered. Lincoln County, NV.
Located 1 ½ hours north of Vegas or 1 hour east of Cedar City, Utah or 2
hours south of Ely, NV, the area is a great day trip from many places.
The residents and tourism businesses are ready for their guests. The
communities have developed a resource list for those planning their vacations in
the coming months. Go to
www.lincolncountynevada.com to view these resources. Business
owners and residents have attended seminars on working with tour operators,
travel agents, RV groups, and individual drive vacations. Customer Service
is their top priority and their desire is to make sure you enjoy your visit as
much as they enjoy having you there. The people here really make a
difference. They love Lincoln County and you will too after you meet them.
LCAT , Lincoln Communities Action Team, hired Robert Collins to provide
information upon request. He can be reached at 877-870-3003 or by emailing
him
Robert@lincolncountynevada.com. Give him your wish list and he will
work with you, the traveler, to make sure you see it all during your visit.
AND there is much to see from historic areas like Pioche with the million
dollar courthouse and silver mining history to Caliente and the historic
railroad station. Recreation abounds in the 7 state parks and BLM areas
for hiking, ATVing, mountain climbing, fishing, hunting, and birding.
Shoppers will enjoy local arts and crafts, antiquing and experiencing an old
fashion mercantile. Seasonal fruits and vegetables sold from farms is an
awesome treat and homemade cooking and bakeries are just like grandmother used
to make. Homegrown corn from the fields roasted in the campfire will
make one return again and again. Explore the night sky in Alamo and Rachel
or during the day look for ancient paintings on the wall of the canyons.
Photo opportunity is the best within scenic canyons or Pahranagat Wildlife
Refuge. Best part of visiting Lincoln County is the lifestyle of “Real
Simplicity”. It is the West portrayed in the old cowboy movies.
Frankly I thought I would never find that again my lifetime. People are
surprised at the services offered along Highway 93 that runs thru Lincoln County
and they are equally surprised that this area actually exists so close to
metropolitan areas.
The calendar of events online will amaze the traveler with
all the events from holiday events to the very unique like the UFO Conference in
Alamo on Memorial Day. After visiting you will be sharing your photos and
you will also hear, “Where is Lincoln County?”
Like me you might hesitate to answer the above question
because this is a wonderful place you might not want to share. It becomes,
“your place”. I cannot tell you what my favorite season is for I
love all of them. It has been great RVing there as well as staying in the
lodges, B & Bs, motels and historic hotels. There are accommodations for
traveling with pets, always ask first. Family traveling works well here
and believe it, you can do small meetings and workshops with the support
services as you would find in a large hotel. Affordability, flexibility,
and laid back vacationing await you.
